Ignition Key Chime

I am new to the Forum and I have a question about the ignition key chime.
Even if the key has been removed from the switch, the chime sounds as long as the door is open.
My question: Is there any way to disable this chime?
Thanks for listening.

You didn't say what year your truck is. on the older 93-97 models you can just pull the harness off the chime. It is under the dash just left of center, right above the tranny hump in the floor. the easiest way to find the chime is to open the door, lay on your back on the drivers floor and start listening. once found, pull the wiring harness off it. this will also solve the lights left on chime, which could be a bad thing, but I still did it to mine.

Without access to a wiring schematic for the chime box (have one for a '91), you could release the wires from the chime plug and reconnect them to the chime. Then remove them one at a time until you find the one that triggers it with key in the lock cylinder.
