bob1963f100 is starting off with a positive reputation.
engine cleanup, paint, chrome

I pulled off my valve covers, intake, and valley pan.(for other reasons)
They are caked with years and layers of cracked paint.
How do you strip, prepare, then paint these parts.
My local machine shop said that they would super heat these parts in an oven until there was nothing left but the metal. I don't know about that.
I would really like to know how to chrome the original valve covers and valley pan. If you know anybody in Georgia who chromes, let me know. What would it be...dip? plate?
Thanks for any suggestions

Where are you at in GA? There is a place in downtown Augusta that dips.
