I haven't tried it yet, but seems pretty simple.

SC_Dave,
There's just a few things to consider. First there's a lever next to the fuel filter assembly to dump fuel from the filter housing. The housing has a small diameter tube running down from it, find the end and have a coffee can or something similar to catch the fuel when you dump it. (You'll want to dump at least a small amount of fuel so that none runs onto the top of the engine when you remove the fuel filter cover). You will be doing all this with the engine turned off (of couse). If you hold the lever down until fuel stops flowing, this will dump all of the fuel in the fuel filter housing (this is not really a bad thing if you suspect water or debris in the fuel, as long as your local recyling center takes the old fuel- I wouldn't put it back in t he tank). The cover that you'll be removing to replace the fuel filter is plastic, although it's heavy duty plastic, it's still plastic so try not to damage the cover during removal. (Fuel filter replacements are available with and without covers- with a cover costs more, and could be considerably more depending on where you purchase your parts). I had to use channel lock pliers with the head facing straight down into the "vanes" on the top of the original cover (some moron overtightened after the last replacement-me!). I ruined the top cover but fortunately the new one that I had standing by had a new cover (smart counterman at the parts place- didn't even ask me if I needed with or without the new cover, he took one look at me and said to himself, "with cover"). The fuel pump will prime the housing before you even turn the key from on to start when you go to re-start, so you shouldn't even notice any changes. Good luck. it's a quick and easy part to change for PM, 10 to 15 minutes and you should be back up and running.
