Each FMCC office sets their own guidelines, one of them being what tier goes with what FICO score. You'd have to know what your local office is doing, and I have no way to get that info.
Hi! I don't know what it would be in your area, but when I bought mine (last night) they said 700 and above is A credit... I don't remember the next tiers, I want to say 640-699 was A-... don't know for sure. Of course this could be different in your area like Jeff said.
I went in with an EDS Credit Union loan offer of 4.49% for 60, 72, 0r 84 months and Ford countered with 5.39% for 72 months as their best offer. This was on a 05 SD. My beacon is 750. I don't think Ford can compete with a good credit union.
I agree with VintageRR, look for a credit union that you can join. They usually have the best rates depending on your credit history. I got 3.9% for 72 months. And they gave me a 1% rebate.
I already had been approved at the credit union when I got the truck. As soon as I got my first payment bill, I did it then. Supposedly the dealer should've still gotten their commission. All this within 1 1/2 months.
I've got "A+" rating and fomocredit offered me "A great rate of 5.9%"!!.I took it for the $1000 rebate, then when the 1st payment came, went to the local credit union for a 3.9% rate.Saved $100/month !!. Salesman/Finance guy said I had to make three payments--- B.S.! No problem with refi.
It says right in the paper work for financing, at least for good credit, that there is no pre payment penalty. Means pay it off whenever... next day if you want.
