"Question: We out of staters rarely get to see the band perform and, of course, the TV networks only give the band brief appearance time during the games. I have most of the OSU Marching Band tapes and CDs. But I am wondering, is there a DVD available of your performances? If not, has there ever been any thought given to producing one?
Answer: There have been videos released of the band but no DVD yet. The stores are sold out of the videos that have been produced, and there are only a finite number of them sold due to copyright and licensing costs. The alumni band sells merchandise to band alumni and Script Ohio Club members and there are vintage videos going back to the 1920s. See www.tbdbitl.com For your CD collection, the new "Road to the National Championship" CD that just came out this year features live audio from Tempe. Also, see this link on how to contact ABC about seeing bands more on TV.http://espn.go.com/abcsports/askabcsports/"
I see them in person every year and I don't know what it's like to not go to at least one OSU game a year.
My daughter is in her high school band and the OSU band came and played at their band invitational this year (a couple of weeks ago when OSU had a bye week). They played/marched a lot longer than I'm used to seeing them perform (half time show). The stands were full and on their feet the whole time. They did script ohio in the middle of the show and ended the show by singing "We don't give a damn about the whole state of Michigan".
