99 Explorer O2 Sensor failed
Hi all..
I have a 99 ford explorer 4D, 4WD V6.
I have a Check engin light on that is reporting code 171 - O2 Sensor - Bank 1 is reading to lean..
Can someone point me to where this is located on the truck? The Bank one leads me to believe that there are more than one and I would rather not drop the $60 more than I need to
Thanks for the help

# of O2 sensors
I believe that all Explorers thru '99 have 4 sensors. On my '96 with a V6, sensor #1 is located on the passenger side exhaust manifold about halfway between the exhaust header and the converter. Best access is through the wheel well by removing the inner fender skirt. I thought only Rangers with the 2.3L had two sensors?
