Hypertech

Looking for feedback on users of the Hypertech programmer used on the 2004 F-150 5.4L. I know this site is supported by the Superchip people, but I am interested in knowing how the Hypertech compares. I think the Superchips is originally made in England, and the Hypertech is US made. Both are expensive so would like to know which is the best, sponsor or not.

Hypertech is showing Part #41043 for the 2004 F-Series 5.4 L. This is the Power Programmer III. Check out 4 Wheel Parts for this item. There are probably other sources as well.

If it is like all of their other products, do not expect much. They do not aggresively tune (read: only at WOT...right where a truck normally runs ).

Superchips hasn't made their modules in the UK in a long, long time... that was back in the days before Ford became their bread and butter. All the chips and tuners use Asian made integrated circuits....

It will feature Hypertech Dual Fuel which Delivers
Premium Performance on Regular Gas!

Hypertech is easing the pain of rising prices at the gas pump. Hypertech has developed exclusive "Dual Fuel" tuning calibrations that deliver virtually the same power increases with regular gas as they do with premium. Hypertech's Power Programmer is the only device that offers this powerful Dual Fuel feature.

"The truth is that most trucks make exactly the same power on tuning optimized for regular as they do with optimized premium," explained Mark Heffington, the founder and president of Hypertech. "For these vehicles, there is never a reason to use more expensive premium unleaded."

While some competitors claim to have tuning for regular gas, their calibrations for regular gas typically make no more power than the stock tuning. In contrast, Hypertech's optimized power tuning for regular gas produces virtually the same power gains as the premium gasoline tuning. For example, Hypertech Power Tuning for a 2003 Hummer H2 with a 6.0-liter V-8 engine adds 17 horsepower over stock with regular gas and 22 horsepower with premium.

Owners of trucks and SUVs are concerned with the cost of operating their vehicles. That's why Hypertech engineers use computer-controlled chassis dynamometers to develop fuel curves and ignition timing calibrations to maximize performance and fuel economy with regular fuel.
"Hypertech Power Tuning for regular grade fuel is substantially more powerful than stock tuning with either regular or premium fuel," Heffington noted. "Simply stated, this means increased power for less money. It's a win-win situation because truck and SUV drivers get more power for towing and save an average of 25 cents per gallon at the pump."

Those savings can add up. If a truck owner buys 50 gallons of gas a week for a year and saves 25 cents per gallon with regular unleaded, the annual savings is $650 dollars. At that rate, the Power Programmer quickly pays for itself.

Hypertech builds, tests, certifies and sells on-highway power-enhancing products that are safe, legal and optimized for the best possible performance. Unlike reprogramming devices that are sold for "off-highway" use only, Hypertech's Power Programmer is street legal in all 50 states, with certification received or pending from the California Air Resources Board (CARB). This assures owners of Hypertech products that they will meet certification requirements when undergoing emissions tests administered by state or local agencies.

Tech support from Hypertech emailed me a message stating the new programmer for the 2004 F-150 will be available in 1-2 months. They said there is advertising out now that shows the part available, but that is due to the fact that ads have to be placed months ahead. None are available today, but will be here soon. I hope to be one of the first to try one out!
