Just had the five original General's replaced by dealer. Yes, new General's are a lot better so far.. Yes, General is the only tire co. that makes the 255/70/17 size.. Talked to Michelin, they said Ford did not give them enough lead time to develope/test a tire for Ford..Evidently no one except General had enough time, they evidently did not test anything, just threw it out for us to test.. Michelin said they will have a tire out in 12-13 months in this size, in the LX series??

 

thank god michelin will save us,i was at the dlr today..and they are going to replace all 5 generals after a road test with shop foreman..tires had to be auth by ford first..somebody knows at the top about the issues with these generals..all these tires are are not in stock i will have to wait until the order comes in.10 to 15 days.thank guys ..keep em coming......

 

I bought a STX last day of Apr-has 17'' wheels w/Michelins, still low miles but no problems so far.
