Newkie Browns arn't named after the place they are brewed, they are named after the event next morning.
I to have had a thermonucler meltdown after a night in the north.
I think I have one or two nuron's left that recall the event but I'm not sure.
Best regards to the boys that put up a couple of wayward Aussies on new years eve
Oh, guys.
It isn't "Newkie Brown", only the foreigners call it that (we include also folk from other cities outside Newcastle, BTW LOL, you need a passport to get in here even if you're English).
We call it "Dog", As in "a bottle of Dog please" at the bar. There are loads of theories as to why but probably the most likely is that walking the family's pet dog was used as an excuse to nip into the pub for a swift one.
And they don't brew it here any more. It now comes from the Federation brewery just across the river in Dunston, Gateshead (where Gazza the soccer player comes from). The old brewery is now prime real estate in the city centre and will soon be demolished to make luxury apartments (IIRC).
Hello, I am form Argentina, I own a F250 XLT Lariat 1988, 7.3L, perfect truck, I made a trip from Honduras to Argentina with this truck, not even punch a tire.
Hi all, greetings from Iceland.
My truck is a F250, XLT, Super Duty, 7.3L, manual transmission with a low gear.
It´s on 35" winter tires and in good condition.
Cheers
There was another Icelandic person on here before the International Chapter started.
Cant remember his name though... It will come to me. He had a cool Econoline.
Iceland is diffrent - not so cold but very windy.
An Econoline like this one ? http://www.icecool.is/html/mynd02.htm
I think that Icecool is in the Antarctic at the moment - trying to do some speed record.
And, yep, lots of Ford trucks here - the almighty dollar has been very favourable to us the last couple of years or so.
Hi,
We are from Israel , just 15 minutes north of Tel Aviv in a small (everything is small)community nex to the mediteranien sea.
Since 2002 we RV "full time" in summers 5-6 months and spend winters with the family back home.
I found out that it is difficult for a non resident to register/insure the truck and trailer beacuse you need an address/driving license/ss# and so on, so if there are some international drivers out there, please send me an e-mail.
We own a F-250 1994 7.3LT turbo diesel, auto, long bed,4.10 ratio, dark green with only 110000 Miles and doing a fantastic job pulling even in through high summits in Colorado-just a beautiful truck (if I would know how to post a picture I would do it).
We are pulling a 5W Cruiser CF29CK w/3 slides and having a great great time.
Each summer we explore different states mainly hiking, soaking in natural hot springs, rafting and meeting interesting good folks with some we are in touch through the e-mail.
Next trip startes in May 2006 to Montana-Wyoming-S,Dakota and Minnesota,
If there are people that want to join us on a canoe trip in North Minnesota in Sep, just drop a line.
Have a great Year, may it be better than the last one.

Danny,
I know it is posible for non-permanent residents to register and insure vehicles in the USA because people from the UK do it all the time.
One reason is because there is less paperwork hassle to import a vehicle to the UK as long as it was your "personal vehicle" in the USA. So some folk take a vacation in the USA, buy a truck (or full size sedan, whatever), register and insure it so they can prove it was "theirs" on import to the UK, and use it instead of a rental.
Then, at the end of the vacation they take it to the docks (typically Corpus Christi Tx, Jax Fl or Charleston SC but most ports have agents that can do this) and hand it to an agent who ships it back home to them whilst they work out how to make it to the airport to fly home!
IIRC, there was a local guy near to me who made a video on how to do all of this and I'm sure he had a list of insurers and other companies in the USA who were used to dealing with non residents and who could arrange things like short-term insurance cover, registration at an address other than one you own or rent etc.
I'll see if I can dig out his details.
BTW, how do you manage right now and where do you keep your rig when you're back home?

Hi Allan1010.
With the British Citizens it is another story, they have some advantage regarding Visa/address/registration and so on, I am not exactly familier why and what.
Since 2002 I am using my son's address in Edmonton while he was a student there and have AB plates, but now as he graduated he is thinking moving back home, so I have to find an alternative.
Regarding storage , till now we always found a C.G at the end of each summer trip that will store the rig for a buck a day for the whole winter.
Any how it would be nice to hear from your British friend, how he is dealing with the issue, it might help me too.
Thank you.
Danny

New to this board, I am in Costa Rica but plan to be in Nicaragua shortly after my house is completed.
I have a 98 Explorer 4x4 and a 99 F250 Super Duty just picked up this week. Sites like this are more helpful to us outside the US since it is hard to get parts and info here in Central America.
Thanks
Scott
