I am pretty sure it wil be the 6.8 that is currently available in the SuperDuties stateside.
They made between 275 and 352hp (depending on MY) and a bucket load of torque, and that can be upped quite easily....
They are just the 5.4l we see in the Falcon +2 extra cylinders.

We need this 6.8 in or XR8(10), might be to heavy though.

Hi guys,
The V10 trip was good, eagle auto parts has one, so it was out with the tape measure:-)) Bugger of a thing is big! It will fit with some cutting and welding, mostly firewall. The Clevo always looked small in that engine bay, well I tell ya, this thing fills that engine bay! Ok, so I've just got to talk to the guys and put a deposit on it tomorrow.:-)))))))) The guys at eagle said that with this motor and the blower that this truck will be a weapon, I think they are right. What I like about this idea is that it will be seriously drivable and sedate when just cruising, but put the boot in and this thing'll grow fangs.
About the flares, try American custom truck in Queensland, thats who i ordered the dream beams through and they have a bunch of stuff for 96 front clip. Also look in just parts, there are quite a lot of F series importers around, I was quite supprised to find a brand new early 90's dash at eagle yesterday, so they may have some other stuff there.
Tim are you from around Nowra or further south?
BigF350, its an XP and I think it was 1984 or 85, cant remember, anyway I was around 20. It had a wade blower on a 221 with 5 speed, won top engineered at that show. I still have the car, it is now a pillared 2 door and about to become a super sedan with the Clevo from the truck, thats what I call recycling!
Cheers guys

That XP sounds good, I love the look of the 2 door XP's...

Do you know what year V10 it is?
Some of them are quite famous for thier self ejecting spark plugs thats all (can be fixed quite easily with a Timesert)

And try Bushwacker for the flares....

Hey BigF350
The build date for the motor is 10/5/02. If it had been fitted to a vehicle it would have been 2003 model, it's a second generation V10 so hopefully they had the bugs sorted out by then. I've put a deposit on it and I'll pick it up around the middle of next month.
Started on my new dash on the weekend I'll see if I can't get some photos in my gallery with progress shot of the rebuild, should be interesting!

Ok, so it sounds like it is a two valve and the plugs may be a problem, though it seems like proper torqueing and retorqueing should keep the problem away and the timeserts if things go that way. Apparently there is a ticking noise before they let go.
Thanks for drawing my attention to this little problem, fore warned is fore armed :-))

New Aussie Member

Hi guys I am new to this forum but not new to " F " Trucks as I bought my first F100 when I was about 21 ( Now nearly 41 ) it was a 1978 SWB 4WD with a mildly worked 30 thou over 351 Cleveland running a Holley 750 vac sec, 2 1/2" twin system with extractors, 4 speed, twin tanks and 2 1/2 " lift kit. I also had the rear 9" beefed up after blowing the diff 3 times by bracing the housing and putting a Nodular Iron centre LSD with all uprated internals and rear disc brakes. I had that one for about 15 years and it was a great vehicle that served me well hauling tools etc as my primary transport as a subcontract cabinetmaker until the ravages of rust, a hard life and wear and tear of components took its toll. I then got myself a 79 F100 LWB 2WD with a 302 Cleveland ( a de stroked 351c made here in Aus ), running a 350 Holley that runs on petrol/LPG and drives through a C4 Tbar auto that the previous owner installed. I also kept my old 78 and have slowly been stripping parts off to use on the 79, in fact I just had to rebuild the engine after I spun a bearing on the 302c, so I used the bottom end from the 351c which I had rebuilt about 7 years ago freshened her up with new bearings, rings, cam & lifters and put on the 302c closed chamber heads with new exhaust valves machined to relieve the compression slightly, ~12 1/2-1 down to 11-1 so I can run petrol if needed. ( Usually start on petrol, run on LPG and use petrol if I run out of LPG ). Hope to get to know you guys and glean some usefull knowledge along the way, I am fairly new to forums although have been a member of several M/C forums since March this year and got a lot of info about my CBR1100XX so I thought why not find one that relates to the other passion in my life " F " trucks.

We're being taken over by the Aussies! You guys could just about start your own chapter!

Welcome Para045! I'm sure Fred, our administrator and chapter leader from your neck of the woods (well okay, he's from Melbourne but hey, it's on the same continent, right?) will drop by to welcome you as well. (He never sleeps, that boy...)

Hey Parra45
Nice to see you on here, I've come across some really nice people in the short time I've been on here, really friendly and forthcoming on info. And as Tiger Dan says, I'm sure Fred will say G'day soon. He has been a great help to me in getting started in this forum. Sounds like you have been into F series for long while :-)) I started my love affair when I was 25 with a 65 model with 302 windsor, a home made step side and a frenched antenna.

We call them LandCrushers.

But a Land Rover is cool! Put a Ford engine in it and you have the ultimate!

Wow, Fred! I clicked on the link and got a whole page of code...but no pic. I'll just have a peek in your gallery...

BTW, I have a question. If a LHD vehicle is imported to Australia, is it absolutely required that it be converted to RHD, no exceptions, or are there any special circumstance where it may be allowed to remain LHD and still be legally driven on the street?
