No flashes or anything like that. I will check the oil level though.

Bucking, rough idle (sometimes) rough accelleration (sometimes)
Well, despite poor reviews i've read about the 6.0 I bought one. Love the truck, 2005 F-350, but after 4 months of ownership here's what i've come across. Truck was perfect, ran awesome and i got between 16-22 mpg, sweet! All of a sudden the truck loss accelleration, ran rough, and died 3 times in a 15 mile trip. I had the fuel filters changed and it was back at 85-90% but wasn't exactly right. After driving it for a while the idle began to shake the whole truck. 1/4 to 1/2 throttle, it ran rough and would shake badly as well. When you stand on it the roughness would go away, but it didn't have 100% of the power it did. Strangely this condition would come and go.
A friend of mine read that the EGR gets dirty and cleaning it might do the trick. The EGR was absolutely nasty and again better but not 100%. Pulling the EGR and cleaning it is easy and I was told should be checked regularly. After taking the truck to the dealer, and shelling out almost $2000, I was told the computer that controls the F.I. and one injector was bad. Hope this helps if you are having similar issues.

Own a 2003 350 6.0 which has the IPR and the ICP on the back of the engine. Bucking, lurching started and I drove it till the check engine light came on. Code showed a bad ICP. Since the IPR and ICP work together I replaced both. Truck now runs great, does not smoke anytime and mileage is now back to 19 MPG local. Truck will get 21 MPG on the interstate and I plan on keeping this truck. Best of luck!

Should you ever want to clean your injectors on a 6.0. I removed the fuel filter on the engine, removed the fuel in the housing, replaced the filter and then filled the housing with SeaFoam. Worked great for me. I also only use Motorcraft products in my truck. Seems like Ford has their act together on the oils etc. SeaFoam being the only exception.
