How much front end travel ?

I measured the amount of clearance this weekend on the front end of my truck.
I have 2 inches on the R and about 1 inch on the L !!!!!!!!
I have to change the L spring as it is bent, thus the lesser travel amount so i am waiting for some new spring bushing.
I know that it rides horrible but shouldn't there be more than 2 inches of front suspension travel. My kids mountain bike has more than this.
Thinking i may trim abit off the spring bumper.
Anyone have a similar situation ?

Actually, the front springs are pretty stiff and they don't flex much. I see from your gallery your truck is a 59. My stock 49 F-1 has 2 1/4 inches of clearance between the axle and rubber snubber in the front, so your right one may be pretty close to normal...for a 48-50 that is, not sure about a 59 though. The left one may have a broken spring leaf or it's just tired. These old springs start sagging after 50 years or so just like us...lol!

I seem to remember seeing somewhere that you should always have a minimum of three inches of suspension travel, but I don't remember if that was for an independent suspension, front or rear. Obviously, you don't need three inches for parallel leaf spring suspension since my stocker only has 2 1/4, but perhaps my springs are sagging too.
