ABS Control Module-where is it on '94 E350 van, 7.5L, E4OD?

Looked under right hand dash. Not there; not to the left of the "windshield wiper control module." Don't know if the black diagnostic connector is behind the kick panel either; there was a small black one (don't think it was the one)but did see the Black/Orange wire. Had it at Ford for tranny flush; Ford told me the ABS control module was bad. I told them to go ahead and order one. Would they have pulled the old one, although they did not have a replacement? However, I didn't even see a wiring harness for it there to the left of the windshield wiper control module.

Should've said: "Did not see Bk/O wire" at any harness w/ a red wire on the opposite connector behind the left kick panel.

Maybe on top of the RABS Valve or HCU or whatever that is? See a module-like apparatus atop what appears to be some type of brake hydraulic apparatus on the left frame rail just about under the driver's seat.

Again, was expecting to find it under the passenger's side dash but not there.

Help, somebody, won't you ple-e-ease help me. Oh, yeah.

This probably wont help, but the wiring diagram for my 95 Taurus shows the module under the hood about a foot behind the pasenger head light. The diagram for a 97 Explorer shows it about a foot behind the drivers side head light.

 

Thanks, for your reply 87 XLT. Mine might be a bit or a lot different though. Guy at Ford service desk today told me it was under the hood right by the HCU or whatever is similar on mine. Now I'm thinking it's built into the top of the HCU/whatever; noticed today my other vehicle has a similar thing, under the hood.

Crawled underneath and saw what I think is the HCU/whatever along the left frame rail about under the driver's seat; has what appears to be 2 lines in and 3 lines out back. Again, looks like it might be the ABS electronic control module on top, but not sure. Seems I've heard of them being together like that.

Noticed "Campaign" (whatever that is) recall--94B38 (think that's right)--July, '94, I think, for this ABS control module for my model & others. But, may have already been inspected/replaced. I'll check it out tomorrow at Ford.

I thought with 2 near the headlights yours "might" be the same. Guess not. Good luck with it.
