Dumb question: Whats the single rib drop out? What's the difference? The spool right now is a little out of my range. Let me do somemore checking on the entire truck the bro in law found and go from there. I didn't hear from him yesterday and I'll ask the wife right now or as soon as I get home if he called or if she's been on the computer all day. If I got them from you I'd HAVE to go to the swap and the wife couldn't in good concious <sp> say no.

the single rib drop out is the standard type used in most cars, and pickups that has a single vertical rib on hte outside of the carrier vs the nodular cases that have 2 vertical ribs, and I wouldn't even consider selling one of those for less than $150 empty. but both of the ones I have came from ford F150s, normally I sell the just the empty plain cases for around the 35 but I also understand the bieng broke. I know it's probaby a bit much money for you but I can sell you one of them set up with new bearings, and seals ready to drop in for $175 (the setup kits cost me about $100 so only chargine $40 to set it up) one of them still has the bearings on it but that one came from a 77 F150, and I believe they are the origanal bearings with unkown miles on it, would be about the same as buying one from a junkyard, and not replacing anything, but thats upto you.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking for now, junkyard type parts and hope for the best. If I can get a year out of it I will be ok. I'm hoping next winterish to start rebuilding the truck and I will go through the front a rear then. And the wife says I can't spend any more on it now except to get on the road.

Went over and looked at the other truck turned out to be an 80 something. Almost bought it anyway as I know someone looking for the engine but then i found out it was sold like the day before. Oh well that's my life. Also found I should replace at least one axle the splines are looking pretty bad need to pull the other out and check it.
