6" body lift and suspension lift?

From what I've seen they are just cosmetic. It's only raising the body of the frame, so the frame will drag before the body (which will happen anyways.) Um as for the Fabtech system, I had a post that I made about shocks and one guy i heard from said he had a 6" lift from Fabtech and the shocks wore out after 6 months. His truck was both on and off road driven. He actually suggested Rancho. Food for thought. Good luck.

6 inch body lift??? Are you trying to build your coffin? First off the largest body lift you'll find is 3 inches, so you are gonna try and make one maybe two 3" kits and some longer bolts. One good emergency stop and your truck will be in 2 pieces the body and the rest of it, the body will probably be about 20 feet or so, depending on your speed at the time, in front of the rest of it. That's not to mention all the other stuff you will have to extend and make custom brackets for just to get it to work properly ( shift linkages, radiator shroud, probably brake and fuel lines too just for staters ). It is just not safe to lift your body 6" off the frame. The reason you the largest body lift you will find is 3" is that is the legal limit in most states. The shearing forces on the body bolts above that height is just not safe. If you want a body lift keep it to 3" or less and you'll live a long and happy life.

6 inch lift
Well from somebody that has had experience with 2 lifted trucks, I would have to say anything over 3 to 4 inches changes a lot of things. First of all it wont ever go down the street straight, hard to keep aligned , vibration problems, like driving a tractor on the road. If your just doing it for looks and just running to the store and back, go ahead. But if your not willing to give up a lot of problems you will run into, then dont even think about it. With 12 inches of lift, I would assume you were going to put 40 plus tires on it then you would have to have custom gears, somewhere around 5 something, just to get it to roll down the street. Oh yes it would get around 8 miles to the gallon . Dont forget the 1/2 ton truck can only handle probably 33 to 35 inch tires/rimes, the u-joints and drive shaft, and axles can only handle so much. think about it for awhile, trust me.
