I have a 5.4 Lariat with 3:73 LS and tow package, tow my boat, over 7500lbs with no effort whatsoever! I think you may have a trans problem.

ELO168, What kind of race car do you have? I tow mine, which weighs about 3,000lbs on a 2,000lbs trailer with no problem in a FX4 screw. If I go enclosed, I might need to step up to a diesel. I don't even notice it back there unless I'm going up hill or at a dead stand still. BTW, here is a pic of mine.

Edmond,

Hope this works:

I love the Diaso in you link. I was trying to get mine ready for club racing this year, but ran into too many issues. My goal was to race it this month. I'll definetly be ready by the end of the year. I'm down in Dallas, TX, so we can go to the track all year (even though I skip the summer because it gets too hot).

It's a 1996 993 C2, even though C2 is usually associated with 964's. No, no Diasio in my stable. I share garage space with a couple of guys at the track and one has a SRF, probably the best thing out right now.

Why are you getting rid of the turbo? Too many problems? I know several guys that run those down here and they always have problems. It's so easy to turn up the boost on those things, but most don't realize the damage it causes. I'm sticking to Pcars without radiators. I've got nearly 75K miles on mine and half have been going to or at the track.

Well, guess what they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Surprise, surprise. The day that I dropped it off, I knew they were going to tell me that. They asked if I had brought my trailer down with it. I couldn't believe he would ask me that without giving me warning. I did check the trailer bearings and they were fine, but repacked them anyway while I was checking them out. I will say this, they also slipped in the fact they updated the computer to the lastest level. I am not sure what that meant, but It might mean they saw an old program and loaded the new one on without really testing it. I will be picking the truck up this Saturday (I am in South Carolina - live in Michigan) and won't be able to get to my trailer until the following weekend.

I am still convinced that without any load on the truck you don't notice a problem, but once you load the truck it seems to fall flat on its face. I will post all the technical details and keep you guys/gals in the loop once I hook onto my trailer again.

Chad
