1st 1/4 mile after Swanson tune
I went to the strip last night. First outing after a trip to Swanson's for a tune and 4# lower. Danny gave me a conservative tune with only 13 degree's of advance to compensate for our 2000' elevation and this poor gas.
Temps at race time were in the low to mid 80's. Here are the before and after's.
August 6/ Sept 24
Reaction time .323/ .344
terrible 60's 2.24 little spin if any/ 2.3 spinning like crazy
330' 6.16 no spin/ 5.8 noticable spin through 1st & some slippage in 2nd
1/8 et 9.3/ 8.79
mph 79.6/ 84.
1000' 12.01/ 11.3
1/4 14.22 @98.6/ 13.51@104.2
As my fellow "L" racing buddy Don Presby who witnessed the event said, "Now you're ready for some Hoosiers!" My 60's were roughly the same as earlier but now with noticable wheel spin. I was thinking how much better the times might be with traction and a little more agressive tune! I think I'll be lookin at 12's!
It's like we've all heard before. "It's all in the tune."
