Some 351 work
My buddy and I are going to do a little work to my 351 windsor. Gonna go with a 600 cfm four barrell carb, new intake manifold, and a new camshaft. Dont know what im looking for, but the truck will be a daily driver for the most part, still used to work, so i was thinking of a comp cam high energy cam. Between the 252 h, 260 h, and 268 h.
The 252 is between 800 and 4800 rpm, 260 is 1200 to 5200 rpm, and the 268 is 1500 5500. Which do you think is best for my application (truck is an f250 np435, 410 rears), what kind of power can i expect, and mileage? Thanks guys

Call comp cams, I would guess they would recommend an extreme energy camshaft instead of the high energy, if not the 4X4 extreme energy line. 268 will put you on the edge of wondering if you should get a higher stall converter. If you have an engine with a low compression ratio then go with a smaller grind, you need all the torque you can get with that f-250 and you will be giving it up the further up the grind list you go. Don't guess call the company

"Why ask which cam would be ideal, if you have already picked one two weeks ago?"
Just curious for different opinions I guess
For the parts, Im thinking of going with a 600 cfm four barrell to replace my stock 2 barrell, a new intake, which im not sure what kind, a friend of a friend is going to get me the intake, and the cam i believe is a 255 deh from comp cams, 255/263 203/216 .434/467 110 lobe sep.
Any idea of power/mileage improvements I'm looking at here, or if this is a good setup. Rpm range of the cam is 1000 to 5500 rpm, which seems good to me. Any comments?

I dunno, you should at least see a 20-25 +/- hp gain I would guess, the torque should be strong, wouldn't expect any more peak torque compared to stock, I would expect it drop off later in the rpms than the stock cam would. As far as improved gas mileage, I dunno about that, it depends on how well you tune the carb and how you control the go pedal....usually when you add go fast parts you not gonna gain mpg.
