8" rear end question

I am putting a 8" rearend on my 50 F-1. Can anyone tell me the bolt pattern for a 1968 8" rearend from a 68 Mustang?

Basic question but, how do you measure 5 x 4.5 when looking at the wheel?

Measure from one lug to the one almost directly across from it.

--------*.from here

*---------------*

----*-------*to here

where * is a lug or bolt hole.

This isn't exactly the "circle" but you'll be close enough to sort it out from 5 on 5.5 for example. And if you measure the lug and then the wheel and they match, bingo.

5 x 4.5 wheels are as plentiful as grains of sand. However, the newer wheels have backspace issues when going on to older rigs.

So if you like those new Mustang Bullit wheels, measure your backspace to make sure they fit without taking a gas ax to the spring or something artsy like that....
