The Ford maintenance schedule for the 6.0 (there's a copy in your glovebox...) says every 15K. That's what I do. If I picked up enough water to trigger the light, I'd of course change it then too.

Frobozz has it right. 15K is the answer. Not only is there an Owner Manual and Diesel supplement in your glove box, but you can download it in .pdf from myford.fordvehilcles.com. I highly recommend reading it.

Whats the going price in the real world for the fuel filters? I asked at the dealership in the town I work and they asked $90! my eyebrow flew up and I made some wisecrack and they lowered the price to $75. Can these be had from International cheaper?

Check www.filter1.com. They have the fuel filters for about $38 for both filters.

International doesn't use this setup on their trucks, sadly. But lots of online vendors have the Ford-boxed sets or the identical Racor (the real OEM) sets for under $40 if you buy a few at a time.

I shopped around on the internet...
found the best mail order price...
printed it out and called my local dealers....
one dropped his original price from $90 to $65, another matched the $52 quote I found at the time...

doesn't hurt to ask !

I guess he waits until the oil light comes on to change the oil too.
