A buddy of mine wants me to sell his 400 { No M } engine. It's almost all disassembled , the lifters & pistons are still in it and I think it has all the bolts (in plastic labeled pags). Includes block , heads , crank , 2 carbs and a Pinto(?) carb & intake (?) , 2 intakes (both 400's) & oil pain. Most of all of the parts have surface rust on them. I didn't see a start or alt. No belts or hoses. Don't know if it's been bored , worked on , or if anything is bad .. sooo ,
I told him I'd try and get $150 from it , but that's be dropping it off anywhere in Polk , Dallas and Guthrie Counties.
First chance to Iowa Chapters members who joined before yesterday ,before I post it anyplace else.
Stuff I have:
Brand New 10" TCI Streetfighter torque converter for C6 351M $300
New Mallory Unilite vacuum advance distributor and surge protector $200
Used Intermittent Wiper controller for 79. $20
Chrome molding for front clip, 79 runs down the valley. $75
4 Mickey Thompson 33x14.50x15 Baja Belted HPs Like New! $350
All sorts of other parts for 78,79 F150's, fans, shrouds A/C Condenser, tranny cooling lines, radiator, lighs, grill, grill shell, square buckets, drive shafts, small block C6 for 4x4 (302, 351W), 4 argent 15x8 spoke rims with chrome trim rings, replacement rubber floor mat for regular cab (decided to go with full carpet instead, is new though!)
Stuff I still need:
Rear window (non slider) to replace crappy slider that has track felt rot.
Replacement rear view mirror, mine has mirror rot under glass.
Replacement front windshield, but I'm sure the local glass company will get to do.
Wood grain molding around glove box. Mine has a crack in it.
Dome Light plastic lens. (I think Fellroo is working on this, thanks!)
I'm sure I have other stuff, just have to dig through the boxes!
Speaking of swap meets, you just reminded me of the one at Hawkeye Downs coming up 3rd weekend of October, would be a good get together -meeting to me. I used to go all the time, until I moved to South Dakota, was there last spring, just didn't take anything.

I will have available soon a 460 and 5 speed ZF trans, all hardware for it to be intalled in your truck. Be warned, though, the trans was never machined for speedo drive, so that would need to be done or a different housing used. The 460 runs pretty good, has 227,000 miles on it, and smokes whe you relly rev on it, and my mom complained it smelled of burning oil when she tailed me home with it. Basically, it is a rebuilder motor, currently injected, coming out of a 92 F350. I haven't been able to find out how far I can go and retain my speedo on the truck, as it will be a Cummins diesel unit after I get done with it. If interested, email me or pm, whichever you choose.

The whole restoration process is documented (so far anyway) HERE I have more pictures to post, but it does show what I started with and how it ended up looking like this.
OH!! And while pulling the Lariat seat out to get it restored, I turned it over and found the original '79 build sheet in the coils! I'll get that scanned and on the website this weekend.
Nice documentation, good to see it coming along nicely. I'm jealous of your shop though, I got spoiled with having an enclosed shop area, now I have an open farm shop with some serious issues... but it's better than nothing.

Contrary to your other post, 8 bolt 15's do exist, used to have a set, but never mounted them. To go that wide you will need at least a 10" rim. I'm short 2 rims myself to make a set to replace my 16.5's. I can see what a friend of mine has, but they won't be wide enough for the 35's, more like stock.
