Do I still need to send you my computer?
Ken,
Earlier this year, I tried to buy a Diablo Chip for my 96 Ford Explorer.
I was informed by Motorhaven that my computer code did not match any that you had in your data files. My computer code is FAB2.
I was told that if I still wanted the Diablo Chip, that I would have to remove and send Motorhaven my computer. Motorhaven would then read the data on my computer.
I have the following questions:
1) How do I remove my computer?
2) Do I need to UPS or FEDEX to unit?
3) Where do I send the unit?
4) How long should I expect to have my car inoperable?

Okay... Diablo still doesn't have a read.
Two ways to go about this: send it in for a read or let us do a SCT chip (we have a read for it).
The SCT chip has the following:
1. Stock setting
2. Kill switch (anti-theft) setting
3. 4 custom tunes - for instance, 87 octane, 89 octane, Premium fuel, race fuel)
By the time you pay for shipping of a computer back and forth, its going to cost about the same to get this chip.
See: http://www.motorhaven.com/customer/p...cat=274&page=1
To remove the computer, first disconnect the battery. Next, under the hood loosen the 10 mm bolt holding the wiring harness to the computer box (located on the top of the firewall, near the center offset a little to the passenger side). The bolt will not come off completely. Pull the wiring harness off. Next, on each side there is a nut holding the box in place. Remove both of these the box will slide out as one unit. UPS or FedEx, either will do. UPS shows up here in the morning, FedEx in the afternoon. Because of this, if you send via UPS we can send it back out the same day. We can have it back to you the next day.

Ken,
Thanks for the very thorough response.
Does the SCT install like the Diablo or does it plug in somewhere else?
I am just looking for more power (or torque) while towing my 20 ft. trailer with my 160 hp V-6 1996 Explorer (usually between 2,500 and 3,100 rpm).
Which of the two chips do you think we give me better performance in this application?
