I have an 04 FX4 scab build date 3-10-04. I picked it up in July, put 3300 miles on so far. Have not had any vibe trouble at any speed, smooth as glass. I also was worried from all the probs I seen on this forum, but I just made sure I gave it a real good and long test drive, the salesman told me to take my time and I did! So far all has been well.

How's this for rolling the dice. Took a 04 F-150 crew for a drive at a local dealership and liked it. But it didn't have options or color I wanted. So I searched the entire Nortwest online at every dealership that night. Found 2 FX4's. Went to the dealer 2 days later and told them if they could make a trade, I'd be interested. Dealer made the trade and I signed the papers. I never even drove it until I was driving off the lot. Build date was 0903. Now at 2500 miles, zero troubles. Even after reading issues with different people and their trucks on this forum, I figured I must put some weight into this- People have a tendency to talk about bad things more than good things. So I figured there was quite a few that had no reason to be on this forum. Ie-no problems with their trucks. Just my two cents worth.

 

From everything I read, the vib problems don't start from the first day. Some do, some start at 500 miles, some start at 2k miles. It's a gamble, as with everything else. I was worried too but after I saw it wasn't consistant, I said heck with it. Bought my truck and an extended warranty to help take care of the first-model-year problems. Been real happy with it.
