American Roll Cover Vs Retrax

I'm looking at the same two covers for my '05 F-250. The American Roll Cover is only rated for 300 lbs not 500. Whatever the rating, I wouldn't carry anything on either one.
One thing I like about the Retrax is that they will notchout the post stakes for a $25 charge. There isn't a lot of info on the Truck Cover USA site, so I'm kind of hesitant for that reason alone. I've read a lot of positives on the Retrax.
Here is the link for the two covers for anyone wondering.

And that truck is from their gallery on the site.

That is not my truck. At a local shop I was quoted for the American Roll cover 945.00 which includes installation. Pace Edwards Bedlocker 925 includes installtion and the electric for 1800.00. I did not get a quote on the Retrax.
According the local shop they said the American Roll cover is more heavy duty which can handle various weather conditions while the Retrax and Pace Edwards was more cosmetic, but functional. Also the box that holds the American Roll cover does not take as much of the bed when the cover is open.
I am leaning towards purchasing the American Roll cover unless someone in the forum has had a bad experience they wish to share.

I see what truckgadgets says but the truckcoverusa site says 300 lbs. I do like the smaller canister but I'm not sure I like all those little chambers where the panels come together. If you look at the cut-away on truckgadgets, they look like they could hold water. The Retrax cover is smooth and one continuous piece.
Just my observation. I hope someone chimes in with some more info.

Seen one on a 2003 pickup. Not impressed as it cuts down on the width of the bed due to the strips on each side. I haul ATV's frequently and could not load one into the bed with the side panels. If you want the bed covered, maybe you should look at an Expedition. I had one of those and it is great, just can't load ATV's in the rear!!

Your remarks did not make since (I compare SUVs with minivans) and did not answer the question above. I need the cover for security reasons. But you made a good point on the sides. I have to take at look on how much width I will lose.

looks nice, but i cant offer any other input because i never owned any of those.
is it flush with the sides? i dont like most tonneaus because it gives it a bulky look.
why the roll cover instead of a regular tonneau or even the ones that fold in half. is it just so you dont have to deal with it when carrying stuff that will stick up past the bed? im just asking because the price are about equal.
