Sharpe Platinum LV Gun - Available or Not?

After some research on this site and having limited air supply, I decided to buy a Sharpe Platinum LV gun but the Sharpe website does not even show such a gun. I can go to other tool sites and find the gun there however the prices are all over the board, from $249 to $499. Has this been discontinued or replaced with a different model? There is mention about reconditioned guns -where would one purchase a reconditioned gun?
Thanks

The Sharpe Platinum LV is an excellent choice and only requires 7.5 CFM.

I believe the Platinum has been discontinued. What you need to do is post your question to Dr Gun on the Sharpe web site forum. Look for the "Dr Gun" link. He will be able to tell you if the Platinum LV is still available as a refurbished gun. You will be dealing with Sharpe directly so no middle man is involved.

The last time I dealt with them, I sent my name and address by email to Dr Gun. The company mailed me a list of their refurbished guns. The list is the only way to buy refurbished guns.

Well, I stopped by the Sharpe web site. Things have changed a bit.

"Dr Gun" is no longer a open forum. It is a knowledge base with email support.

I emailed Dr Gun with your question about the Platinum LV. I should have an answer by tomorrow.

Here is the response I received...

Dennis, Sorry, the Platinum LV is no longer available. However, Snap-On sells the Excalibur LV which is the same as the LV except it is red. The Snap-On part number for the 1.3mm gun and cup is BF900EXCG6 and for the 1.5mm, BF900EXCG3. Thank you for contacting Sharpe's Doctor Gun Technical Support line.

Aekisu,
Talk about providential intervention. A portion of the business I work for does custom van/auto retrofits for wheelchair lifts, etc. I was talking with the shop foreman the other day and he was showing me his new, red Snap On HVLP paint gun. Went back there today after reading your post and guess what gun he is using? He only paints occasionally and has no problem with letting me borrow it whenever I need to.

Thanks again for the extra efforts you give on this forum and all the helpful information.
