Wastegate mod???

I disconnected mine but I keep getting the DTC P1249 which is for the wastegate. Will this code affect the performance of the truck??? I have seen some people putting a barb and an extra pice of hose at the end where the vacuum line plugs into the wastegate. What is this mod and how do I do it?? Can I just buy a vacuum actuator for like the a/c vent door to plug in the line so the computerthink it is plugged into the wastegate???

When you pulled the hose, did you plug the end of it?? I just reached mine over to the stud bolt on the intercooler pipe clamp. If it's not plugged, that is possibly why you are getting the code.

It is plugged. Part of the diagnostic for the code is no wastegate detected, or plugged line. So I figure it is setting the code since it is plugged.

The mod you are talking about with the barbed fitting is commonly called a boost tube. Basically take the brass barbed fitting and drill a tiny hole in it, take your wastegate line pull the little boot off the end, put a piece of vacuum line on the red wastegate line and clamp it on, put the barbed fitting in the vacuum line and then the boot you removed before on the other end of the barbed fitting. Reinsert the boot onto the wastegate. The idea is to bleed off a little of the boost going to the wastegate to make it open later.
