Aftermarket A/C or Factory A/C

I have 78 ford f150 that does not have A/C and i was wandering which would be better to get factory or aftermarket A/C units. On one hand factory A/C is what came on the truck andit would make it look original but with aftermarket there is les looking around and less headache finding a unit plus it will give colder air and will be more efficient. What do you think?

much simpler and cheaper to go with after market unit, has most every thing you should need to make it work.but will not look as good as factory unit((controls),both will cool about the same.

www.bought4less.com can help with the aftermarket AC

If it was a 97 or newer they can hook you up with real factory AC too.

I, for one, am extremely unhappy with the non OEM A/C I had installed in my '76 F250 because the blower motor is very annoyingly loud. My wife refuses to ride in my truck (of course that has its advantages too). Anyway, the three-speed blower motor has brushes and the clicking of the brushes on the armature (I think that's what the brushes ride on) make an unacceptable howl.

I hope the company will stand behind their product and refund the $1500 I paid for the unit and installation because it is useless.

I have been corresponding with them all summer on this issue. They said to let it run on full speed for a couple of months to see if the brush noise would quiet down---it didn't. I'm fed up and am going to press them to refund my money on Mon.
