04 6.0 tick - need advise

I appreciate all the help I have received on this forum in the past.. Thanks in advance to all who reply.
Need advice.. I have a 04/04 6.0 F-350 that I’ve had since last November. It is an 04 motor.. Has 9300 miles on it and I hadn’t noticed anything wrong (I think) until I just drove a 04 F250 Harley with a 6.0 (5000 miles on it) that sounds a lot better than my 6.0. My engine seems to have and extra “tick tick tick tick” (sounds like an bunch of crickets) coming from it that I can even slightly hear in the cab under the dash while I’m driving. It’s been doing this for several thousand miles now. I thought it was normal. Standing outside it seems pretty loud compared to the 04 Harley 60 with 5k miles. The 2 sound the same except mine has an extra tick?? If I didn’t know better I would say it needed valves adjusted.

Any ideas or similar problems?

Mine has a simular sound almost like bad spark plug wires arching to ground or chevy lifters.

Does using a fuel conditioner like Power Service from Wally world or Stanadyne help alleviate it ?

My 04 does the same and has since new--I just atributed it to normal diesel noise although in a gasser one would say the valves needed adjusted. I've run the silver PS and it makes no difference in mine.

Arrow 04 6.0 tick - Pilot injection sound?

Whats the build date on your trucks with this ticking sound? Do you know if you have pilot injection?

Well, I myself can distinguish different sounds from a 03 and 04 Engine. Anyone else notice this different noise???
