extended cab lightning?

Since the lightnings dont come in extended cab version for the 97-03 models could you just buy lightning engine and put it in a extended cab truck or would it be the same thing to just supercharge a v8 engine?

You can buy an L engine. I wouldnt just add a S/C to your engine because the internals might not stand up to it for long, especially if you keep adding mods.

The Harley Supercrews had the lightning motor, just diffrent pulley on the s/c. Even thought its not an extended cab- its a crew. The lightning motor is available in the new ford racing catalog, pricey but a great motor. (the new "cammer" crate motor in there is very impressive 400hp nat asper. 32v dohc 5.0.)

Other internal differences on the HD engine.

The differences between the 5.4 SOHC and 5.4 SOHC S/C is the Pistons. Crank, rods etc are the same. I have talked with various L owners about this as my FX4 SuperCab will be packing a whipple supercharger soon. the rods are the most likely part to let go when going above ~430 rwhp as I understand it. There are no Differences other then the pulley change between the L and Harley truck.

you can find supercab harleys on ebay that have a s/c motor, they are alittle bit older, maybe a 2000 or 2001 but they do exist.

The 2000 Harley Davidson F150 is the only supercab version. 2001 through 2003 were SuperCrews. 2002 and 2003 were the only years with a factory supercharged engine. All 2000 and 2001 were not supercharged. I have a pics of my 2000 HD in my gallery.

I'll second that there are NO supercab supercharged harley trucks from the factory.
