For a stock automotive engine, has to be the 500 cube V8 Cadillac of the '70's.

I've got one in my garage out of a '78. A sticker on the core support said "526 CID", but I've never been able to find out if it really meant Cubic Inch Displacement.

RPM machine has a 806 stroker kit out for bbf's

Sonny's racing makes a 932 cubic inch bbc race motor natural aspirated 2100 hp at 8100rpm 1500lbs of tq at 6500rpm only costs 90 grand

top fuel drag cars have 500 cubic inch motors running 8000hp and 6000lbs tq

i have been debating on building a 942ci bbf drag motor natural aspirated, no nitrous and no turbo or supercharger. money is the only factor slowing me down on the build, im working on it tho, slowly but surely

the only limiting factor of build a 600ci+ motor is money, if you have money the sky is the limit of how big you wanna go, i have seen a 1000ci sherman tank motor in a older mustang, he was cranking out 600+ hp and close to 1000lbs of torque, so having high triple or even quad cubic inch digits dont really mean anything. you can have a high amount of cubic inches and have lower then expected horsepower and torque, but yet have a lower cubic inch and have huge amounts of horsepower and torque top fuel cars for example

How in the hell do people dig up these old posts?

And how many more times is that giant ship engine going to be mentioned in this thread...it's already been posted by four different people. geesh.

Speaking of small engines though, ever seen these things? So cool

I have seen a 6 cylinder diesel that stood over 6 feet high & was about 20 feet long. Top RPM was 600 RPM made by Fairbanks Morse. It powered a 500K generator. The pistons were like 18 inches in diameter.
This is small if you talk to any mechanics that work on ocean liners. Some of those you can get lost inside the block.
