firing sequence

I'm replacing the spark plugs and wires on Thumper today. I can't find my manual and I'm not sure where the coil wire goes to the distributor and the firing sequence of the plugs. My son changed the wires yesterday but the truck won't turn over and I think it's just that the wires are crossed somehow. Anyone know what the firing sequence is? I have a 351M in the truck. It's a 79 f150.

The firing order for the 351M/400 is as follows:

1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

Also, I'm sure you know this but the cylinders are numbered 1,2,3,4 from front to back on the passenger side and 5,6,7,8 from front to back on the driver side.

Hope this helps.

For next time, It's usually right on the intake in raised #'s that are part of the casting. Not all but most North American engines are like that, and mabye some imports too

Thanks. I stole it from someone on a ranger forum it's supposed to spin. I cant get it to spin on here though. I don't have the spinning one anymore, I had to reformat my hard drive cause of a virus and lost it.
