A work of art! That dash board is awesome too.

By the way, thanks for getting that cluster for me... I cleaned it all up and it's in my truck. Only problem is the speedo still doesn't work. Back to the drawing board. My mechanic in Montana said the cable was good, but I kindof wonder about that now.

It could be the gear on the tailshaft, or to drive the cable, should check those out too.

yeah well it was a sick 360 and the 2barrel was all it could handle, fellro is tempting me with a 4barrel manifold. we will see what develops there. i cant believe how it is running already. just going from a 360 to this is already putting a smile on my face when someone looks at me when i go by.

I had a 390 in my old 75, and it was quite the motor. Just was hard to feed. pull like nothing, torched the tires with no effort, had headers so it sounded real good too. I just had trouble keeping it all together, the list got too long so I let it go.

They aren't the most fun to put on, so most definitely, that is a good deal. Even though that was the biggest money pit I had, I still like that old truck, may have to get another someday.

truck running a little strange right now, i gotta get under it, seems i feel something shifting around down there, i am pretty sure i tighted all the motor mounts and trans mounts though. i know this tranny i got from dougs is leaking a little, i am hoping that maybe the crossmember is loose. and the kickdown rod is acting funny too. if it isnt one thing it's another ho hum.

I had one once that didn't leak, at least until it let two wrist pins rub the cylinder walls, leaving 4 grooves in the two cylinder walls, and all kinds of blowby... the next to las engine for my 75. Took a gallon of oil and half a tank of fuel to run 30 miles a day... I was desperate, it was all I had running that wasn't snowed under, literally, and I had no money to fix anything with. The good old days...

my 69 390 runs like a dream...PERFECT! But it leaks all over the place... embarassing! Gotta get that fixed! Leaks oil and antifreeze...and I am not sure where the antifreeze is coming from. Could it be leaking out the back side of the intake?? I am sure that is where the oil is coming from...

I had one that the intake had been swapped by prior owner, and the intake bolts were loose, letting antifreeze into the oil, and it later threw the botton half, not just the cap, it actually ripped the big end off the rod, and punched a hole through the bottom of the oil pan, promptly dumping all the oil I had just put in on the ground... I imagine it would be possible, have you had it pressure tested? If only you were closer to me, I'd have to do that for you, I have one. All I can say is look for it, it comes from somewhere, and that is a possibility.
