The GEMA/State EOC (Emergency Operations Center) will activate tomorrow along with Red Cross volunteers and start putting our emergency plan into action. Frances is probably going to bring us some bad weather, we have planning meetings all day tomorrow and Thursday plus lots of comms gear to get set up and pointed in the right directions. Fill up vehicles, generators and what nots and be ready. Latest path/track has it coming inland around Jacksonville but could vary.

If you have short wave radios you can listen to the hurricane watch net on 14.325mhz. I have a feeling they'll be activating tomorrow sometime.

The last track I saw on it had it coming right through my town, Folkston, down here in the SE corner. I will be here to ride it out if it comes our way. I have a five day weekend starting Thursday so I can be sure I have everything ready. So much for a sunny, fishing on the river, short vacation.

A a piece of my family lives in fort pierce, Fla. and the storm has been headed straight for them. my father tried to convince them to come up here to atlanta, but instead they just went to the west to the gulf side. now theyre stuck there b/c of the clogged roads. i hope the house can take it. its a well built one.

I only had a few limbs come out of some trees, nothing major. My brother in law is the road supervisor for the county. He has been working everyday 18 hours a day since Friday. The rains have just quit this morning. We have a lot of dirt roads in the county and all have bad washouts and flooding. Traffic has been pretty steady with everyone heading back to Florida. We have been lucky not to get anything worse.
