I never used lexol so I do not know what it will do but the product I was talking about was neatsfoot and it did make a mess of the small part I tested that is why I contacted
king ranch. I do not use their conditioner I use another brand but what I use has no oil
see my gallery pic of front seat.
Lexol is a neatsfoot oil based conditioner its just a brand name neatsfoot oil. Second did you contact the saddle shop or the master saddle maker(his shop is actually in the back of the saddle shop, you just have to ask for him(my grandmother goes in there quite a bit just to talk to him, which probably because she is nice to him like that is how I'm able to get some good deals on his saddles) there is a distinct difference in the two as to actually who knows what. Like I said I have had little over 20 yrs experiance with neatsfoot based conditioners and a good majority of that with king ranch leather goods and the only time that something that you have experianced as come across my experiance is when someone was way to liberal with their application of neatsfoot(and it wasn't a king ranch good, but I'm sure the affects would have been the same).
thats good to know for when my seats need replaced. just as a note I clean and condition my seats every three mo. they must stay looking great for the car and truck shows. I now have 26 trophies with it andtry my best to keep it clean.
well I do not know.I just used a small amount to test it. possible bad bottle or something. I just know I did not like how black it looked. or did I do something wrong.
as for contact I went online to their question and answer site on what to use and not to use.they emailed back with tips.

That is totally possible, you would like to think that it isn't, but things like that do happen. I just know what I have experiance and I condition mine once a month, which is alot for a truck that does spend some time in the garage when not hooked up to a horse trailer over the weekend, I just don't like to deal with trying to salvage leather after it's gotten too dry and cracked. Now mine is darker, neatsfoot will make it darker thats for sure(I would say mine is a shade darker then it was from the factory), just not black. I would more then likely think it was a bad bottle then anything you did, because you were testing it, when people test something they don't typically get overzealous on the test site, which in my experiance is what you would have to do in order to make it go pitch on you.
the Saddle Shop sells conditioner and our local dealership, but thats probably because its in Kingsville. Great leather though, see it all the time especially all the woman and their King Ranch purses.

You will also see a lot of the county workers there that have King Ranch trucks; you know where the Downtown Truck Shop is off 8th street I believe it is? Lee was there talking with a bunch of the county workers outfitting their work trucks.
Well, I have had 3 of the KRs and we as consumers are not used to having REAL leather for our leather seats. The KR leather is real, and just like real leather it does have to be conditioned. Do the conditioning and it will outlast any other "leather" seats made.

That's where it pays to have had experiance with dealing with King Ranch Saddles.
Thanks to all you boys for your suggestions and personal experience regarding KR leather. I picked up a couple of fantastic leather jackets during a recent trip to WY which are both pretty dark and one has deep red tones, so I personally don't care if the KR leather darkens up a bit as long as it keeps its good feel. Maybe clmbing into our KR's is not unlike putting on a favorite jacket or swinging up onto a fine saddle. I went with Lexol brand cleanser and "original" conditioner plus some fresh good neatsfoot oil all of which I will test and probably alternate over time along with saddle soap as required.
