Speaker Clearence
I replaced the speakers in my mothers 1996 for windstar GL.
The front speakers were easy as they went into the same spot as factory, but when I got to the back speakers, got panels off and took off the factory speakers, when I went to put the speakers on the drivers side there was a wiring harness running across the the speaker location so push that down out the way.
On the rear passenger side there was body metal in the way, so I took the bracket off and put some longer screw and some spacers to bring the bracket far enough were the speaker is not touching the metal.
My question is how much room is needed between the metal and the back of the speaker?
I've got about a 1/8" to 1/4" between speaker and metal
Thx
