F150 vibration

I am going tommorow night and test drive some 2004 F150's. As I stated in the yes its another vibration post, that I had driven some 2004 F150's this past weekend and all of them had bad vibrations from 45 to 60 mph. Not in the steering wheel but the seats, floor boards, and you could see the bed moving up and down. This was the fastest speed that i drove them. My question is to the 2004 owners How many of you had your vibrations when the truck was new or when did it show up or how many of you have never had any vibration and are happy with the way your truck rides. I am going to another dealer out of town and drive some and if they vibrate I guess i will have to look at a F250 Super Duty instead. Thanks in advance for any info as I also will use it in making my decision on whether to purchase a 150 or not.

Could you be more specific to these mods?

Your dealer service should know about them..

Driveshaft replaced...rear differential needs a different lubrication that caused a shudder on cold take offs.

The damper kit is mounted on the rear of the frame only one side which is suppose to help with the bed vibrating.

I had all these mods done and it drives much better. I drove some trucks off th elots with no modifications and I couldn't stand to drive the truck for 3 miles.

Ok, Thanks ! the ones that i drove I would have been ashamed to take anyone for a ride in them if i had bought one. It is bad that you pay over $30000. for a new truck and then have to put it in the shop for repairs. Looks like the dealer would do this in advance or Ford would correct the problem before shipping the trucks. Wonder how many sales this problem cost them? IF the ones I drive tomorrow have the vibration I just can not justify buying one.

Definitely make sure they have all the mods and that you make the deal contingent on the final test drive..

I haven't had any vibrations as of 3,200 miles but did read one that said his vibes started after 7,000 miles so there is no guarantee. I've also read others say they've driven 10's of thosands of miles without vibration. Definitely you don't buy one off of the lot that vibrates or shimmys.

Mine was smooth as glass when I purchased it. I have 4100 miles now and I get a slight shimmy in the steering wheel in the morning. I know it's the tires because it goes away after about ten miles. My truck doesn't vibrate and I love it. I do suggest in test driving several and choose the best for your needs. Also, look in the driver side door jamb (B pillar) and look at the build date...mine is 06/04...so it was built June 2004. Earlier build dates contributed to some of the problems...not all of them, but some mentioned in this forum.

My build date is 09/03 and I have yet to feel any vibration. I did however test drive one where I thought it rode a lot rougher (long before I even knew there were vibration problems). I think its hit or miss probably with this problem. I only have about 1000 miles on mine but I hope that it drives this way for good.

My build date is 5/19/04.. I bought the truck a couple days ago

My question is: Did they address these issues? Have they been taken care of? I have a very slight nibble on my steering ... I have noticed the bed moving up and down sometimes .. but I don't feel anything from it .. and thought it was normal.

Do I have a problem? ... LoL

the main problem is ford made the truck lot stiffer than the old one and also added rack and pinion steering which helps transmit the vibration more
