Exclamation Motor Swap

I have a 1999 F-350 and am going to be putting a 2001 F-350 motor in it. How hard is it going to be to swap the motors?

A point to ponder before you dive in: the '99 had forged rods and 01 was about the time that they introduced the weaker powdered metal connecting rods. You may have a better engine with the '99 even with twice the mileage.

Or just run the 99 till it dies and just store the 01, thats what i'd do. Not sure on how hard it would be, if theres anything specialy different but the wrenching part wouldn't be really hard.

dont take the 99 out till it dies. store the 01 or maybe sell it??? could sell it and maybe make enough to buy another 99 or take what you make and use it towards a rebuild for the 99. have a reputable shop do the rebuild and you wont have to turn a nut!!! just my .02
