02 SCREW to an 04 SCREW?
I went to my dealer to have my truck serviced the other day. While waiting for the service to be done I started talking with a salesman about the 04 F150's. He told me about all the rebates available. I start asking about prices (x-plan) and boy was I surpised! The prices are cheaper than when I bought my 02 Screw! Now I am wondering if I should trade in my 02 (they will give me 20K plus for it) for an 04. Do I need a new truck, probably not. Does it make sense to trade up to the 04, I have been debating this since I left the dealer. Give me some of the Pro's & Con's. Maybe someone will have a different view that will help me with my decision.

I think if you could afford it and the equity for your trade in is right, then go for it. Make sure you get it with everything you want... don't "settle" and you'll be happy. The only con I see is if you end up loosing money with your trade in. Check out www.kbb.com for the value of your 02.

Singletrak...the difference between the 2 trucks is amazing! I have an '04 screw Flareside, my buddy has an '01 screw, and he does nothing but admire my truck when he stops over! He really likes the Flareside look, and the extra space in the cab compared to the previous years (and so do I!!). Plus, I bought mine using the X-plan, and even with the rebates back then (Mar04) I did great. Imagine how much better of a deal you'd get now!
But like MX2004 says, be careful not to get burned on the trade in. You may even want to float it out on the market and see what a private sale would bring ( a dealer will NOT lose money on a trade in!). Quite honestly, I didn't want to go thru the hassle of selling it privately (too many psychos out there) so I accepted a reasonable value for my trade in.
I absolutely love my truck, no regrets whatsoever!! Good luck!
