1997 F250 LD 4X4 front Brake rotors
I'm the proud owner of a 97 F250 4X4 LD w5.4L Triton and have a question for someone who has done this and might have the answer! <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
<o></o>
I pulled my front rotors (7 Lug) and detach an assembly that includes the front wheel bearings, they look like a one piece assem (rotors & wheel bearings) that is designed not to come apart. My local Ford parts guy swears that his book shows 2 pieces and he lists & sells them as separate components. <o></o>
<o></o>
Am I missing something here? It's my first brake job on this truck, which I've owned since new, and I didn’t want to beat the snot out of an assembly that wasn't meant to come apart. <o></o>
<o></o>
Any help would be appreciated.<o></o>

Mark, the Haynes manual says that for a 4x4, the rotors should come off without the bearings. 2wd is a bit different, and you have to remove some hardware, but for a 4x4, it should just slide off.
If it's the first time you've ever done it on this truck, the rotors may be rusted onto the hub. I'd try a sledge hammer and a wood block so you don't destroy the rotors!
