Different Ford Dealers

Anyone buy a truck from one dealer and take it in to another for warranty work or repairs?
I found what I was looking for at a Ford dealer 1-1/2 hr. away and now need to
take my 2004 Lariat in for some minor repairs which is warranty covered.
The Ford dealer near me is only about 45min. away.
Is there a problem with dealers doing this?

Thanks

Not at all! The seller will, of course, want any and all of your business. They'll push how they'll keep track of all your records in their system ... which is a nice thing for 'history' etc. But, warranty work can be done at any Ford dealership ... no harm, no foul. That's the point of the warranty ... to be able to get service at any Ford dealership in the country.

It doesn't matter where you go, but you may be treated better where you bought the truck.

Anytime your vehicle is worked on the service department should enter your info / VIN into a computer that links into Fords data base. I registered my truck at Fordvehicles.com and when I log-on it shows me what dealerships have worked on my truck and what for.

I bought my truck in Birmingham (about an hour away) after the Tuscaloosa dealer said he couldnt find the truck I was looking for (which was 45 miles away, duh). The Tuscaloosa dealer is 2 miles from work so I take my truck to them for work even though I didnt buy it there. They are top notch, even though they know I bought it elsewhere. When I got the phone survey, they got all 5s. When I took it in the first time, they even gave me a free oil change voucher for my troubles.

When I picked up my F150, the salesman even said I was welcome to take my truck to the Ford dealer closest to where I live for warranty work/servicing if I wanted.

If any dealer gives you aggrevation about doing warranty work and you didn't buy the truck from them, just ask what would be expected if you were on a trip 1000 miles from home and your truck was suddenly in need of unexpected service that was covered under warranty, tow it 1000 miles back to place of purchase???

Thumbs up

Thanks for the responses.
I didn't know if it would of been a problem and that will save me a lot of time.
