Hey guys, in my 94' Explorer Sport when I press the brake pedal down I hear a rubbery, growling noise where the shaft of the brake pedal meets the firewall. Does anyone know what this is?

I have had this same problem with my 92 Explorer. It was last winter and if i recall correctly all i did was spray a little WD-40 or similar lubricant on the push-rod where it goes into the brake booster. This solved my problem.
