Just wondering if anyone else has had dealings with Obsolete Ford Parts in Oklahoma City?...My first experience with them was not good and wondered if anyone else has had probs with them or if mine was isolated experience...don't plan to use them again for ANYTHING....

may be too critical, but ordered several items, most shipped separately and charged for shipping for each item, shipped part of order that was SPECIFICALLY cancelled and had to return, and spent a month waiting for major part of order after being told THREE times that it had been pulled and would be shipped THAT day...the parts were pulled 1/31/02 (when my card was charged) and received it march something... charged on my card for the whole month, by the way...lost my scheduled shop time with body/paint guy...after all said and done, the only explanation was that "they screwed up"...but no offer of any reparation...and STILL waiting for rest of backorder... but, maybe just an isolated incident of left hand/right hand thing....

No wonder you're upset. Screw-ups are understandable as backordered items can often happen with these type of parts (I know from experience)..... but making you pay the extra shipping because of it? NEVER! Hell, FTE's store will LOSE money on a order before we double or triple charge shipping...

well, even the backorder doesn't bother me...but the fact that the order may have set in their warehouse for a month + without being sent out...unless they charged the card so they....well never mind... will leave it at that...

I've ordered several parts from them and never had a problem. They are a little high priced on their parts but they have a huge inventory and a large staff to support. Best of all, they have a lot of really hard to find parts that we would be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Sounds like someone really screwed up this deal, though. Visit their showroom and look at their museum if you are ever in Oklahoma City. They are sponsoring a car show April 20 of this year. I attended last year and there was about 300 cars and trucks there. I'd give them another chance.

don't think so...just looked at the bill for last shipment (fenders sent by FedEx)...they charged me $50 for insurance on a $600 invoice...sounds a little strong to me...but am a beginner and may not be up to speed on the insurance thing..but think that is a bunch on top of the $168 shipping charge...

ooops, further checking of the invoice and i realize the $50 i thought was insurance was the ORIGINAL shipping charge when the invoice was first billed (a month prior to shipment)...then when it was ACTUALLY SHIPPED they charged ANOTHER $168.00...so now the shipping bill is $218....doesn't this sound like a little overcharge?... i am going to check with FED EX and see if these guys are charging bogus freight charges... nuff said...

Freight is a killer, I work in a parts dept. here in b.c. most of my vendors are from the states and fed ex is the most expensive but most reliable in my expierence. I can't get anything here for less that $70.00. What ends up happening with something like fenders is they charge freight based on volume not weight. Only beacuse the fenders don't weigh a bunch but they take up alot of space and you probably can't top load them. If you have a choice, and you have an extra day to play with give U.P.S. a try.

I order from them when I can't find the part somewhere else. Currently I have an order outstanding with them that I placed Feb 11 for 4 items which (I was notified 10 days later) were immediately back-ordered. Each item was between 12-20 bucks, so its not a large order. I rec'd one item at the end of one month with a shpg charge of $5.99. The end of last week I rec'd one more item with another $5.99 shpg charge. 2 down, 2 to go and its been nearly 2 months.

To their credit, they haven't charged me until the item has been shipped.

This has been pretty typical of my dealings with them over the past 3 years.

Maybe they need some feedback about their way of adding more expense than neccessary to people's orders.

Around here most companies *ASK YOU FIRST*
