Explorer Overdrive vs. Drive?

I have had my 2000 Ford Explorer SOHC for about a year now, and as I have looked back on that year I realized I have driven 99% percent of it in "overdrive". I know the users manual say to use overdrive for "everyday driving conditions" but shouldn't I be switching sometimes?
Am I damaging my engine by not using "drive"? I am new to message board, so I hope I am not rehashing covered subject. Thanks, Paul.

Your fine. You should only lock-out overdrive in special circumstances like towing or mountain driving and only then to prevent the transmission from shifting in and out of overdrive frequently "hunting" for the right gear. ROY
