Getting a new set of tires
Hey guys, I am lookin forward to the winter and all the snow that'll come down for me and my truck this year. And I am looking into buying new tires instead of these Goodyears that I have that WILL handle snow but not as good as some thicker treaded tires. I don't have any lift on my XLT trim level truck so I won't have ALOT of room to work with you know but some. I have seen those "ALL-TERRAIN" branded tires and those look pretty good for some off-roading. Is there any place online that I can look into buying tires like this???

I have All Terrains on my 150. They are nice because they don't increase road noise to much, they give you good on and offroad performance. Stay away from mud terrain. They work best on dry roads dirt and mud. They are the most uncontrolable tires on wet roads. BFGoodrich are the best ones, they last along time and they have the strongest sidewall, which stiffens the ride a bit. If you want a cheaper brand, look for the ones with the BFG type tread. Goodyear A/T's are not that great. I see that you have a 4x4. You should be able to get 31x10.5 under there without a problem. My dad did with 2wd. Fills the wheel wells nicely. Good Luck. Can You explain to me what snow is. All I have is a few hundred beaches and a nice expansive playground......aka desert =) OK I have to confess, white stuff actually does fall in the local mountains....God, I love So. Cal.

Hey Homer. I have never really purchased tires online, I've always gone to the local Discount Tire. They've always treated me good, and they really do a good job. You can check them out at www.discounttire.com . They do have locations in IN if you don't want to wait. You can also check out www.fourwheelparts.com . They tend to be a little pricey, but they are a great resource for tire info. In San Diego, its almost useless to purchase online. 90% of the time its cheaper to get it locally. On the discount site you'll see one called pathfinder sport suv. I used to have those on my Bronco. They are actually pretty decent tires, however they don't work very well on rock crawling (I now use mud terrain). The Yokohama Geolander are good too.
