Edelbrock 351 cam and lifters

Edelbrock makes a cam and lifters for 351 trucks. I'd like to try those out on my 302 and change the firing order to a 351 firing order. Would the engine work if I changed the timing and firing order?

what year truck are we talking about here. cam selection is very important. you cant just throw any cam in. fill out your signature located in the control panel with info of your rig, year, motor, tranny and any mods

Oops. Yeah that'd be a good idea. It's a 1993 F-150 XLT with a 302.

Call comp cams. they will be able to suggest a cam that will be computer friendly and give you what you want. what other mods have you done to the motor?

Sounds likea plan. The only othe mods are the headers, y-pipe, and exhaust system so far. I'm going to be buying the Ford Racing Mass AirFlow kit designed for the speed density lightning trucks. I have to use that kit because my truck has the E40D transmission and not the AOD. I'm wanting to change the engine timing so I just have to change the firing order instead of crisscrossing the fuel injector wiring to match the 302 wiring. Basicly make the computer think it's a miniature 351.

you will need to use the firing order of the cam so just route the plug wires on the dizzy cap accordingly. also check out fordfuelinjection.com for more info regarding this

good luck
