ANYone running a Fram AIRHOG filter??

My brother got one about a week ago, now he is getting a check engine light. Dealer says it's because he put that Airhog filter in there, and it's ruined the Mass-airflow sensor.
Is this BS or what?
I think it is. Also, they said the sensor is $450.00.
It is a 1997 B3000 truck.

thanks
Ken

Welcme to FTE,you should be able to wipe the dirt off the sensor and unhook the negative battery cable for five minutes to clear the code, just be careful not to bend the sensor.I think you can even spray it clean with some carb cleaner but i'm not 100 percent sure.someone should be along soon who knows for sure. P>S. Rock auto has the MAF for $92 with exchange.

Like Vin95 sez try cleaning it first. See the tech info sticky at the top of the forum & click on "MAF cleaning." If cleaning it does'nt do the trick check the price at Napa. And ditch that idiot "air hawg"
