Starting Problem

For 13,000 miles my 2000 Explorer fired up on the first compression stroke and immediately transitioned to a solid idle. Lately it takes about seven compression strokes to fire up and than transitions to a momentary falterig idle and often stalls. Usually fires up on the second attempt, falters momentarily, and finally begins to idle normally. Seems to be getting worst as time goes on. Talking to the Ford folks tomorrow. Anyone have a similar problem ??

Starting Problem

Search back thru some of the older posts , seems to me I recall a problem with the Idle Speed Control on the later model Exploders .

Starting Problem

SWMBO took the Explorer down to the Ford dealer in Fort Walton. They said it needed a new fuel pump. They changed it out on warranty and all seems well at the moment. They said it was something of a common problem. Hope that was it.
