i found an 84 capri rs turbo being parted out in the local classifieds, the engine and all is still good. i was thinking about getting the motor for the 87 ranger i hope to be getting on tues.(when i see if the owner took my offer). but would this be a good motor to build off of? at least untill i decide to do a good v8 conversion

 

Great motor. I have an 87 Tbird turo coupe with that engine plus a intercooler. 132000 miles and runs as good as new. Get an intercooler for it and you will pick up HP. That motor stock was 145 HP and my 87 with the cooler is 190. to get the 190 you will need to bump the timing and run prem gas. Also with the intercooler and prem gas you can bump the boost to about 18psi.
