Stuck wheel lock; Conclusion!

Well after many futile attempts I bit the bullet and took my truck to the dealership. After telling the service writer to remove the wheel lock "by any means necessary" they did so by chiseling away the side of the lock and backing it off. Only damage was the wheel lock itself. No problem! Here's the kicker, after I packed away my laptop(makes time in the waiting room enjoyable) I proceeded to the service writer's desk. I was expecting to receive the invoice to take to the cashier. The service writer actually appologized for not being able to save the wheel lock and called it even w/o charging me a dime . Needless to say, breakfast for the service dept will be on me this Friday when I'm in for an oil change. Anyone else here in the Panhandle, Gary Smith Ford on Beal Parkway is top-notch!

I had a stuck wheel lock once & the mechanic forced ( beat) a socket on top of the wheel lock.. Then he used a cheater bar on the socket and removed it..

Glad your's came off too!!

FordRuss,

Just curious, do you currently use wheel locks? After this last experience, my opinion is that some are a little to good at keeping the wheel in place. I guess I'll just take my chances from here on out.
