6.0 vs.Dodge cummins

Hey I was just over on the Dodge forum somebody asked if they have ever raced the Ford 6.0. I thought somebody would have but it looks like nobody has. Or they are not talking. Cockey guys over there at dodge talk One guy called the 6.0 junk. Another said the sick liter. No respect. How about you guys anybody get next to another dodge and say Lets Go. I know there is a few of you out there. I know some of you have beat hemis but how about the cummins.

whats the race? 1/8? 1/4? top end? I have outrun a 6.0 4 door dually 6 speed with my 98 12V cummins 3/4 ton with a 4 speed in about a 3 mile race (from his house to the bar!)i think his 6 speed might have slowed him down but my 98 doesnt have anywhere close to the power and still won pretty easily.

Hey Budly do you have a dually too. Otherwise I think it wouild be unfair. I still say the 6.0 would beat you in any kind of a race.

The 6.0 PSD should win.

It is has a V configuration, while the Cummins is a inline.
It is common knowledge that V's are faster that inlines.
Same H.P., although 40 lbs. more torque on the Cummins.(the new 600's)

No i had a 3/4 ton with a flatbed on it, HD 5 speed with a shift kit. like i said i think the time it took him to shift gave me the advantage becuz i could get the same boost at lower RPMS without having to hit the clutch

even if the 6.0 was faster, since you obviously got the jump in a 3 mile race you will win. The fords have a stock governer at 95 or so and I know the dodges either don't have the governer or it is set higher. BTW I have dusted many a dodge with my 7.3 including up to the 03 HO. Mine now has no governer. Poor dodges!!

I raced a dodge 04 with the new cummins 600 last sunday. I have a brand new f-250 cc 4x4 fx4. I have only had it two weeks, 1500 miles on the odom. I had a 5600 kw generator in the bed and beat him off the line up to about 60 mph and then I let off. I am just being carefull since it is so new. Still have the dealer tag on it. The generator weighs maybe 300 lbs. Not too much to consider, but I have to admit he was right with me. Just my .02

I'm calling BS on this one. We beat a PSD with our Cummins H.O. (555 lb./ft.) when we first got it and the bed was still empty. So I know that the new 600 lb./ft. Cummins would toast a PSD...especially off the line. The new Cummins will get a 15,000 lb. load moving uphill at IDLE...that thing is a torque MONSTER down low. Anybody who says they beat a Cummins off the line with ANY pickup truck other than the SRT-10 or Lightning is nuts.

I'm calling BS on your story. Are you sure the guy was racing you? The 6.0, even with less torque, will outaccelerate a stock Cummins 600. The Torqshift and design of the power curve give the advantage to the PSD. I'm NOT saying the torque doesn't matter, but in terms of acceleration it's far from the only thing that matters.

Those 6.0s are an awesome motor. Dont forget it. My bet is that a 6.0 would blow that cummins right off the road. That 6.0 will kick---. If your up against a 6.0 forget it. You wont know what hit you. Hemi cummins bring it on. What does dodge have they have nuthin. Fords got the 6.0 watch out.

1. NOONE should believe a drag race between 2 closely matched vehicles unless they are present and see the race.. Too many variables, such as gearing, wheel spin, transmissions, driver, how hard that driver feels like pushing the truck, etc.. and whether or not the other driver is ACTUALLY racing.

2.. CRIKEY hasnt the PS vs CUMMINS been beat to death???? I mean MY lord there has to be 150 pages (didnt count)or so on this forum covering the same exact thing, and yet every other day another thread......

150, You havent seen Fanatical until you see me talking about KTM's..L
I can Appreciate it.. But I can tell you how the thread will go..
It will go back and forth and Probably bash Dodge, after all this is a ford forum, Then Sinister will come on and give the technical merits including the stress points of all internal components on the cummins and how it should runn 600,000 miles. While FordLariat will Swear the 6.0 Problems are behind them and are now a Great running truck and will readily outpull, outrun, and outhaul everything outthere, because after all they sell more trucks.
And THAT will go back and forth for several posts and before you know it another 15 page thread .. BUT nothing wrong with that! L
All In fun Boys!!
